✄ DIY idea: Deryck Todd's headwear

I came across this bangin helmet by Deryck Todd (I wish I owned a motorbike but I think my mum would have a nervous breakdown, so maybe I'll get one and just won't tell her...mum if you're reading this I'm joking!) on fancy, check out my catalogue.

the man himself
I'm going to have a go at the middle one if I can find enough bling! But I also think the one with the ring is mint. Not so sure about the googely eyes one but you could use absolutely anything, as long as you have enough to cover the front. What things would you use?

Film review: Drive

I just can't stop thinking about this film.

... and Ryan Gosling's jacket of course! I was going to buy a replica for my boyfriend until I found out it would cost me $159.99. I just don't love him that much. Jokes.

Delfina Delettrez

Collars are all the rage this season, and there are some beautiful ones out there, like these pieces by the beautifully named Delfina Delettrez. I love the way her pieces are so strong; with their clean cut edges that almost look sharp, but not overpowering because the thickness of the metal she has used makes them look quite delicate and very elegant. If the metal were to be any heavier the pieces would loose that dainty feeling and would become overpowering.
TIP: Wearing this piece over a jumper or top will instantly smarten up your outfit.

She also makes some amazing skeletal inspired accessories:

And how freakin' awesome is this?! I must have one.

Film review: Melancholia

It was everything The Tree of Life tried (and failed) to be.

Plus Kirsten Dunst's wedding boloro was beautiful:

There are no words.

Seriously . there . are . no . words! What the...? Why would you ever...? What were you thinking...?
Imagine if somehow a pair of these fluffy knee shorts found themselves in a time capsule and the people of the future opened it up, saw them and thought this was what the cool people were wearing in the noughties?
And who is responsible for these things I hear you cry? Graeme Armour, that's who. He must be stopped.

HOLD UP! Never judge a designer by his fluffy knee mesh shorts; don't forget his SS10 collection:
But will you ever be able to forgive him?

Brand New UGGs!

As you will see below, I'm long overdue some new UGGs. I got these from a friend a few years ago and I've worn them to death. I've had to wait a while for these new ones because they're so expensive; they ended up being two birthday presents worth and I made up the rest. Totally worth it though!

RIP old UGGs, you served me well

My New Brothel Creeper Boots!

Do I detect a hint of indie feet?

I found these badboys in a small boutique called Sick in Bethnal Green while visiting friends in London. They have to be one of my best finds ever because I didn't know brothel creeper boots even existed! They're super hard to walk in though because of the thick flat soles and they're pretty heavy too but I can't complain, they were only £80!

✄ DIY tutorial: (finally) Finished Pearly Sunglasses

Looks pretty simple doesn't it? Well, it's a lot harder than it think! (see post from ages ago)
So I'll pick up where I left off on the last post:

So yeh, I ran out of pearls! Always check you have enough materials before you start creating or you'll have to wait months and months before you can find more of the same. Lesson learned!

This may look like a backwards step but that's the price you have to pay for being a perfectionist. The pearls were ever so slightly unsemetrical so naturally I ripped all of them off and started again! This meant that I had to spend half an hour filing down the superglue that was left on the sunglasses so that the pearls would sit evenly. I also had to file down some of the edges of the pearls so they could slot next to eachother to make the perfect heart shape. It was all totally worth it.

What do you think of my latest DIY? If you like what you see then spread the word. If you have a go at it please credit me and don't forget to send me your pictures.
