You can never have too many

Urban Outfitters £50  £20
Black snake skin effect ankle boots.

Office £50 ish  £30ish
Blue suede cork wedge platforms.
See, platforms can be cool, they're making a comeback and I'm purchasing another pair right now!
High heels are a no-no for me because they're too painful on my joints so it's all about flats or small heels (see above - the wedges have a slight heel)

It's been a long time,,,

...you say you missed me, word gets round, you shouldn't have dissed me, step back don't try to kiss me, right about now I'm 50/50 -  just got a little carried away there! I'm so embarrassed that I can remember that much of a Lemar song. Shame on me.

Physically I've been through some ups and downs, (mainly downs) which have affected me emotionally, over the last few months, which is why I haven't blogged for ages. It's been really hard actually, life has been full of vicious circles recently, e.g exhaustion --> not able to do anything --> becoming bored --> sleeping in the day --> not sleeping at night -->> exhaustion. ta da. This cycle got so bad that I found that I could sleep at night even though I had slept in the day. Apparently this strange sleeping pattern happens to inmates in prison because they're in confined spaces for long periods of time without much stimulus.
Also my Trigeminal Neuralgia (not sure if I've mentioned this before; it's when a nerve in your temple goes mental and makes specific places on your face (across the cheek bones and down into my jaw in my case) feels like a bolt of lightning in your face and because I get it over my jaw it affects my teeth by making them super super sensitive) came back with vengance for a while recently as have the restless legs. Not a great couple of months on the whole!

Here are some pictures (of varying quality) of shell cards I drew to send to my brother and sister-in-law in Bejing for handing out as gifts; it's very much a present given country apparently.

Did you miss me?

This has been me for the last two weeks; too exhausted from all the pain to even type a few words.  However I'm definitely over the worst of this episode, bring on the next one!

Another thing to add to the reasons why my life sucks

So over the last week I think I've started to develop panic attacks.  Like M.E it's one of those subjects which people argue over, but having had a friend that's had both I can catagorically confirm they excist, at least for her they do and that's all that really matters when it comes down to it.  I'm finding it quite hard to accept because I like to think I am, or was, quite a strong character and I feel as though I'm becoming more and more pathetic by the minute.  For some reason this week I've been finding it harder and harder to spend time away from my house/ a place where there's a bed and bath readily available.  You see having a bath for me is my first port of call, it generally seems to help most of my ailments especially my Restless Leg Syndrome, which is what has come back with avengance this last week having have a good few months off from it due to new medication.  Now you may be reading this and thinking Restless Leg Syndrome sounds ridiculous and I guess it kinda does but I can assure that I would choose the WORST kind of pain over the restlessness.  It is the worst thing imaginable. I imagine being addicted to drugs (which some doctors argue that I am, but thats another story!) and desperately needing another hit. It does exactly what it says on the tin and isn't limited to just your legs, it can be all over.  I think most people have experienced it a bit when you're really tired, or when you're trying to get to sleep on a really hot night or when you have a bad trip when taking narcotics.  Your clothes feel itchy, an itch you can never sufficiently scratch, sometimes it's been described feeling like water running down your legs. Your brain is screaming move your legs but the second you do it screams again and again. I understand all these things do sound quite absurd but I cannot adequately describe the pure frustration and fear of 'what if it doesn't stop?'  I have said many times to people who've been around me when it happens that I want to die.  I'm gonna stop talking about it now because it does sound dramatic and I'm off to my boyfriend's house, where there is a bed and a bath so fingers crossed I'll be ok.
If you want to know a little more about my story read my first post here.

More art from the past

Not the best picture (due to lack of a good camera, which I hope to rectify soon) of a very old sky/sea scape from school.  I remember being really pleased with how the sun rays came out but this picture doesn't do them justice sadly, not that I'm making excuses or anything.

Hair from Meadham Kirchhoff S/S '11 catwalk

I really hate how slow my hair is seeming to grow at the moment.  I had my 3+ year-old dreadlocks lopped off last year and my hair hasn't looked nice since, not that you can really imply that the dreads looked 'nice' before!  It's a miracle that I kept my dreads so long cos I'm one of those people that get bored of their hair so quick that I end up having a cheeky snip everytime I get out of the shower.  I was a little apprehensive to go to a hairdresser again, having only been to one once before where it cost me £70 for a trim and a few crappy highlights.  I won't disclose where but let's just say that if there was a Guy named Toni around I would've punched him in the face.  To be fair the hairdresser managed to salvage more hair than I thought, I still went in a hoodie cos I wasn't quite sure how well it would come out and boy am I glad I did.  I looked like a butch Justin Beiber lesbian thing.  Straight to Boots to buy hair-dye to cover up the two-tone mop on my head.  So now I'm just waiting and waiting for it to grow really long so I can actually look respectable and do stuff with it.

Sleepies

I don't know why I get the urge to post stuff so late at night, I guess I'm a 'night owl' if that's what you're called if you hate, and are unproductive, in the morning.  Which is most definitely true in my case!
n.b never, EVER wake me up before I absolutely have to be up; if you've tried this yourself then you've  definitely never made that mistake again.  It's not pretty and you have been warned.  I take no responsibility for any physical and/or verbal abuse that may occur in that situation.
The reason I get weird about sleep is because it is one small percentage of my life in which I be detatched from pain, plus I don't often get much uninterrupted sleep of it because of being woken up by the pain, plus plus I try to regulate my sleep with more tablets so it's all a delicate balance which I will try and get right now.  Goodnight.

Discoveries of the day

1.  jesse j
2. i hate jesse j

4. apparently one of the songs she's 'written' stopped someone killing themselves
5. that person deserves to die

Today's grumble

The muscles around my shoulders are tight as hell, my Trigeminal Neuralgia is being a pain (literally) and I tried to write a post earlier today but I've just been put on Oxybutynin patches and they completely knocked me out, it's weird because I'm lucky in that I don't get side effects from most of my medication.  But this is apparently one of the exceptions and therefore I've had a completely unproductive day.  I've also just read that I shouldn't immerse the patch in hot water because it makes the patch release more of the drug or whatever... so how am I supposed to have a bath, bearing in mind that you have to put the patch on your ass or your hips/ lower tummy (I went for hip btw)????
I hate today, technically yesterday.  I hate it when people feel the need to make things technical.  I hate myself.
Goodnight.
(see how I resisted the urge to say 'technically good morning', maybe today will be better?)

I've been away for a bit an I've only just found out that....

Emma Watson is teaming up with Alberta Ferretti to do an eco-friendly line called Pure Threads.  Is this a joke?
I mean can you even put these two collections in the same universe together..?
 and then there's this...

1 March 2011

So basically this post tells you how awesome I am at fashion and ting,

I may be going slightly up my own backside when I say that I am sooo ahead of my time!  I just get the urge to buy a specific item and then suddenly everyone else has one, here's the proof:

6th form - leg warmers under boots (which came back not so long ago)
              - checked shirt, which that is only now slowing down
Gap year(s) - over-sized fur coats, except mine was fluffy cos it's cheaper
Uni - over the knee socks
Post Uni - all kinds of tights, before all the rodarte stuff

I realise I'm sticking my neck out way too far but now I have the urge to buy a rucksack and I haven't been wrong yet so sit on it haters.
I'm already regretting writing this.  Goodnight.
